The Good, The Bad, The Smelly, and The Gross

Ok. I am here to set the record straight. In case anyone has ever shared how amazing it is to have a farm or a homestead. I am sure they set up this beautiful painting of warm summer days under a tree drinking homemade lemonade. All the animals nicely kept and lets not forget the peace and quite they enjoy. Well they must have simply forgotten to tell you about how much work it can be to keep a big property clean. I'm not taking about clean from trash. I am referring to keeping it clean from leaves from the driveway. Picking up rotten fruit from under trees. Tossing the half eaten veggies your animals left out that are full of fire ants and maggots. Clearing your walk ways of animal poop so that if you happen to walk out you don't end up slipping and landing on a pile of warm wet poop

You know that stuff. That's the stuff everyone always leaves out. Farming / homesteading is wonderful and its fun. But it really is a lot of hard work. Therefore, it's not for the faint at heart. You really gotta put all you have into it (labor not money.) Unless you have enough money to pay someone to come and do it for you. Trust me it can get quite expense especially when you have a large property with several animals. The point it consider the pro's and the con's of any farm / homestead well in advanced of actually getting into it. While the idea of a farm or a homestead might seem dreamy it can be a nightmare when you really aren't fully prepared to get into it. Not to mention a huge money pit. So yes, it truly is wonderful but when you are ready with mind, spirit, soul, and wallet
